Introduction
	The Department of Environment & Energy was under orders to start in 2004, at the same time as the National University of Tainan. We are the first department in Taiwan to take the ideas of global environment protection, sustainable government policies, and green energy development as our teaching goals: The basic cultivation of the environment and to develop in students the professional ability to research, design, and provide green energy. Heat pollution, the increasing content of carbon dioxide and the greenhouse effect resulting from fossil-fuel systems have seriously damaged the global environment and become critical issues for the whole world. The research and development of non-polluting green energy now demand immediate attention. Thus our program and curriculum are mainly focused on the concerns of global environment change and the development of green energy.
